Nissan Is Being Investigated in the USA

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is conducting an investigation of Nissan, the Japanese motor manufacturer, concerning payments to the Company’s managers. Bloomberg reports this on Monday quoting sources.

According to it, the regulator is trying to verify the accuracy of the information disclosed by Nissan on payments to its management in the USA. The SEC also wants to establish whether the motor manufacturer maintained an appropriate level of control in order to prevent unreasonable payments.

On November 19, last year, former Head of the Renault – Nissan – Mitsubishi, the French-Japanese Automobile Alliance, Carlos Ghosn, and former member of the Nissan Board of Directors, Greg Kelly, were received into a Tokyo prison when they were arrested on suspicion of violating the Japanese financial law. It should have said that Gon, with the help of Kelly, could conceal his true remuneration amount as the Chairman of the Nissan Board of Directors in the period of 2010-2015.
